"We commit ourselves to one another in community by strengthening our bonds through shared Gospel values, mutual acceptance and support, and accountability." A DAY IN OUR LIFE The sisters at each mission house decide on a mutually beneficial schedule that includes prayer, meals, and other common activities. The following schedule reflects the experience of our sisters living at the motherhouse. 6:45 am Morning Prayer (Lauds) & Mass We begin our day praising God, supporting one another, and sharing Eucharist. 7:30 am Breakfast Eating most meals together is one way we nurture our "shared life in community"--one of our core values. 8:00 am Ministry Wherever we go, whatever we do, we strive to make God's compassionate presence known through our ministry and presence. 12:00 pm Lunch 1:00 pm Ministry 5:30 pm Evening Prayer (Vespers) In an extension of our ministry, we pray for the people we serve and the needs of our world. Our day winds down in the manner it beganpraising God with one another. 6:00 pm Dinner After thanking God for our food, we sit down to enjoy our meal and the sharing of daily life experiences. Much laughter is heard and many memories are made in our dining room.
7:00 pm Personal Time and Recreation We appreciate a healthy balance of time alone and time together, as well as a variety of recreational activities. Before the day ends, we each make a private examination of conscience by reflecting on our response to God and others throughout the day. We thank God for blessings received, ask God to forgive our limitations, and place the day in God's hands. After this short time of reflection, we bring our day to a close by praying night prayer (Compline). In order to deepen our relationship with God and enable us for ministry, we also develop our personal prayer life through daily meditation, spiritual reading, faith-sharing, and other personal devotions. A monthly day of recollection consisting of quiet time, personal and communal prayer, and Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction further support our spiritual life and our need for God.
